Kaua'i, Hawaii (Oct 4)

October 2 – 14, 2008

Here are the first of many photos from our family vacation on Kaua'i. We stayed in Kapp'a on the East shore of the island. Paradise - is the only way to describe this place: Crystal waters that look vibrant blue, rainbows, waterfalls, colorful birds, coconut trees, pineapple plants... and SUN! Oh, and of course chickens. We were told that during a storm in '92 many chickens were blown to their freedom. Today, they roam around the island of Kaua'i much like squirrels do here.

Tulip loved the beaches so much she never wanted to leave. She was wiped out at the end of every day. And - she took her first steps there on October 3.

The reef break creates a nice safe place for kids to swim

The Na Pali Coast (West shore)
This picture doesn't quite capture how vibrant the ocean really is - it's almost surreal.
